Damn this place has been pretty quiet you usually complain about their bad service or say something good to defend it..:p
Or is the battle between iBurst and you guys over????;)

Thinking the same

I have been thinking the same. The forums have been pretty quiet. Or most of the Sentech users have cancelled and moved to IBurst or ADSL and we are the last few remaining users

Well sentech phoned me yesterday to follow up on a ticket I opened in august about their traffic shaping (which they deny)(even though I gave them 100% proof that traffic was being shaped)(They even acknowledged that there was a problem). They wanted to know if the speed issue has been resolved. I gave them a 10 minute lecture about how badly they suck and how useless they are.

"We're sorry but you slipped through the cracks"

Yeah dealing directly with their technical manager, a senior technician and their head of customer relations, and emailing them and phoning them 3 times a day, I guess I was very easy to miss.

To cut a long story short: I told them the speed issue was 100% resolved when I got ADSL. "When Telkom provides better service than you, you know you have a serious problem".

My connection has been up for over 60 hours...hence the silence from me

less problems

It has been suprising that my connection has also been up for a good while. Speed has also been not to bad. I am on a 256 connection and my torrents have been running almost at full speed lately.

Makes one wonder if Sentech are fixing there problems or that things are just running better with every one leaving.

Still problems

Had DNS problems from midnight to 1:30 last night when i gave up
Kept getting disconnected the other day

Just dont feel like posting it all the time

lol, only reading these posts...

adsl fine thanx :P

I often get disconnected at 12:05am for around 30min. Speeds are still shocking, but there is no point in complaining because nothing is ever going to change.

After my last response from the helpdesk, telling me basically that 57kbit was good enough to their speed test site... I've given up all hope. I'm just hanging around to see what ADSL prices do in Jan/Feb.

My problems with Sentech magically went away when I terminated their service and went with iBurst. Even my blood pressure is lower :)

Yeah, well....

Apppaaarrrttt from the whole service being off for extended times in the last week or so, I must admit that all in all the network has been exceeding my wildest expectations. Speed ok, few drops and overall better than it has been in a long time.

I second that :D

Well , only if you DON'T like downloading 30Gigs a month.

anyways remote administartion of a companies servers with sentech connection was slower than my 56k in my other pc.

and that was local to local hehe.

i would take a chance and say that iburst will come out in the top since telkom bought a stake in them and they also had that deal with datapro.

sentek on other hand had something with sabc... hmm sentech IPTV =>

Hasnt been any improvement on the Blouberg tower. I would actually say its worse now than before
