Uncharted 2: (USA): $59.99
Uncharted 2: South Africa: $92.00

Two for one anybody? Seriously, why do we even bother buying games in this place.

I really dig how we created this little subculture of fear from piracy to keep the local suppliers cash supply flowing, not anymore I say, when you start paying DOUBLE for a F*$*(%ING game, moral grounds needs to be shifted.

Theres no fear from piracy,at all

Local retailers / e-tailers have to make a profit which isn't much!

Most games are around the R400 excluding shipping to SA if you import PS3 games. Better on the pocket!

Plus the local distributors have to take their cut. WHY they can't arrange below cost price and base their profits on that, we'll never know.

Sure u heard about the big mac index, there was a recent article about it being flawed as the big mac's are made in every country, so they chose a product that is manufactured in one location and sold globally...obvious choice, the i-pod...and SA was the 3rd or 4th highest local retail price vs manufacturer retail price....SA is about 90% up on the manufacturer retail price...so nothing surprising there...goes for electronic equipment, games, software, EVERYTHING!

Hit the nail on the head.

I import everything I have accessories and parts wise. Re-sell it at a small profit margin just so consumers catch a break.

However, the fluctuating exchange rate means I have to reconsider the price point on all my products :(
