Hi All,

Just something I'm curious about..

What has been your highest data usage on iBurst whilst capped / uncapped?

;)

Capped 5gigs
Uncapped about 1gig.

I honestly cant stand the slow speeds when capped so I don't even try to leech with it.

well we are 5 people at work using this one iburst account.

we have yet to reach our 3GB cap - I have never seen the "you are our of cap" browser redirection message yet.

yes, it's that sad....

The good old days (if you can believe their usage tracker :D).

A fair number of people still manage to klap way in excess of 30GB per month.

Not bad for R199 / month.

Funny how many times iBurst becomes unthrottled over weekends. Is it deliberate or do you have a crappy throttling system?

I'm not complaining though (the network seems to have ample capacity at such times - one should really not let it go to waste).

I'll have to test that this weekend.

LOL

I have a friend with iburst that practically goes bananas every time he finds out the his account is temporarily uncapped. Almost like a comedy minute every now and then :D

Quite a bargin

I only use about 6-10 GB a month, but the company that the account was bought through seem to think that i'm 'fraudulently' using this bandwith as it is outside my cap. They even told me that i'm somehow bypassing the iBurst systems to use it?!?! (What rubbish?)

Now my problem is that its my father's work account and the company keeps sending emails to the work saying this, and they would like to charge his work for the bandwith. Is this even legal? As iBurst did not charge the company.

(It's quite difficult to explain to these dodo's that i'm not doing anything wrong, and they don't seem to want to listen to me as i'm much younger than them)

I've given up trying to explain to them that it's called being THROTTLED.

Anyone got any advice how to handle it?

Keep your pimp hand strong! Or you could ask Shaun if he wouldn't mind giving them a call. Or maybe Jannie could call them and demand that they give you some monies as a way of apologizing:D

PM the details to Shaun Green and let's have a look at it. We can speak to the SP.

I've been told that they might charge the business for the bandwith used, haven't received an account or email yet.

But i'd like to clear up the fact that this is not 'fraudulent' with both parties.

i'll PM Shaun as soon as I can.
