Is anyone else experiencing issues with whatsapp on Vodacom currently. On my wifi its work perfectly but on my HSDPA connection it doesn't show last seen etc.

Vodacom up to their tricks again!

I can confirm this.

My Whatsapp has been offline since 07:30 this morning, however via wifi it worked.

Other apps that normally take a few seconds to connect, are now connecting almost instantaneously, yet once connected, no data is sent or received.
This leads me to believe that Vodacom are intercepting and messing around with our connections, and as a result of this, TCP is not working normally or even at all.
To confirm this theory, I tried changing the port in my forex app to one that I know is closed, and that also connected instantaneously. (This is very abnormal behaviour)

Vodacom, stop messing us around, and fix your !@#$

Still got the issue. Called a vodacom guy and he said it's not an network issue...

Ok seems just some of us is having the issue. I have 3 friends with the problem and another without :( (All vodacom ofcourse)

Vodacom is blocking whatsapp msgs due to lost revenue... It started with snail slow bis... N now its whatsapp!

/straightens tinfoil hat

Please call them and complain. I did and it didn't help. With a lot of people calling they just might admit there is an issue

Yup can confirm the issue was not just related to WhatsApp - my iPhone was not responding on WhatsApp and has seriously struggled to load web pages all day. Connect to wifi and all works perfectly.

same my damn whtsapp is down to omw can download anything i almost thru phone out of windowdakffj93y3wy3w9j]-y3wyw vodacom

hey now now don't be like that

Vodacom has said that its superior network performance, extensive network coverage and strong distribution channel means that consumers can expect to pay a premium for its services.

I've noticed some messages being sent to iPhones on Vodacom are being delayed.

I'm not sure yet if it's only iPhones or only Vodacom. It doesn't seem to matter from which network (wi-fi or cellular) the message was sent.

Ok, but not sure thats related to this.... I'm using Android, and it wasn't just whatsapp that was not working on the 18th, it was everything except web.

People have 24 months contracts and for me I need to get to store to rica new cellc sim

whatsapp is possibly the worst designed app ever.

Not that I want to disappoint the fan boys, but I agree. On my Android device, it sucks big time, as a matter a fact, I tend to use Google Talk more on my Android devices.
