WhatsApp announces major voice note privacy change

WhatsApp is expanding its "View Once" feature to include voice notes, letting users send audio clips that disappear after being listened to.

The company announced the change in a blog post, saying the feature is ideal for sharing credit card details with a friend or when planning a surprise.

Sure, as if everyone doesn't listen to the message twice to get the details right. The only place this will work correctly is where it's not needed unless you're sharing a secret with someone.

I'll consider blocking someone if they sent me one of those. I wanna keep the evidence.

I already have a few drunken voice notes I hold over people's heads.

Yay, now when I can't make out what the dumb fck is trying to say I can't go back a try and decipher it.

Should rather bring out a feature to block voicenotes will be more useful.

Is ... is that something people do? Share their credit card details with friends? In a voice message no less ...

It must be nice to be so trusting that not only are you willing to give your friends your CC details, but also read them out aloud for anyone to year, so your friend can listen to it out loud for anyone to hear.

If you are someone who does this, can we be friends?

We need a feature to let recipients have it self destruct without having to listen to it and an auto reply to the sender to f off
