While it might not make Ockie happy, Whatsapp announced today it now has a billion active users.

WhatsApp has just broken a pretty huge boundary.

The instant messaging app, owned by Facebook, have confirmed it has reached 1 billion users.
That’s almost one in every seven people.

WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum shared an infographic announcing the landmark number.

Koum said: ‘One billion users. Couldn’t be more proud of our small team doing so much in just seven years.’

Gee - thats gotta pi ss the local cell operators off .... :D

I bet you some executive at MTN has decided that they are losing out on revenue of at least 42 Billion SMS's a day...
 

You do realise we are talking about site search? (At the top on the right), I doubt that many people go off and open a second window just to search the site on the off chance from Google (especially when on a tablet or phone), it's why the site actually has a search button, just most sites have one that works properly...

No, I only use search very rarely, (for example to check for a thread's existence), admin should fix it or expect duplicate threads, it's that simple).

I'm not going to be doing Google searches when on my phone just because someone can't maintain something as simple as a search function. They could even add a Google custom search box if they don't want to fix the built in one...
