please tell me, how much does a message cost.

I know it depends on the size and data plan.
lets say I got a normal prepaid number with normal airtime.

with this message;

1. I love Mybb. Cost?

2. I love Mybb because [1000 characters ] cost?

3. picture taken with 5meg camera setting. cost?

4. voice note [[I love Mybb]] audio file. cost?

So you understand this but still ask? :wtf:

1. 12 bytes
2. 1,000 bytes
3. however big it is
4. however big it is

I'm sure you can do the maths ;)

Why not just test it yourself? Send msg, check balance...

1. 2c
2. 1000c
3. 500000c
4. 500000c

:D

You only get charged for data, and under normal ciruimstances - like just chatting - the cost is so small its negligible

Must be vodacom if your paying R5000 to send a 5mp picture :P

Just buy a data bundle (50MB) or so, you should be fine.

I'm sure normal messages would cost a couple of cents, and attachments (pictures, sound, etc) would costs in the rands.

I tested it and the airtime balance after was the same as before. I sent 3 words

I think R59 would last you an entire month.....excluding too many large files (photo, audio, video) over 1MB.

Remember that the balance only gets adjusted after the session, so it might not be immediately. You can check your Vodacom billing what it says.

Load R2 airtime, make sure auto-updating of apps is switched off(preferable rather test this with a clean OS&only whatsapp installed) and see how long R2 airtime last you to send messages.

I don't even bother to check as I am on 8ta 60gig (go big), back in the day when I was on a BlackBerry would spend R60(for bis) noticed that option was expensive and no value for money whatsoever)
