Whatsapp not working on Huawei device

I noticed from today that the whatsapp on my Huawei P40 is not working anymore. According to the app, the official version must be downloaded from play store, and not from 3rd party apps. I also tried to download it from Gbox and Gspace, but it is still not working. Is there maybe any way around this.Screenshot_20240331_221251_com.whatsapp_edit_2659690788135.jpg
 
I'm not familiar with Huawei, but I take it you need an official version from Play store, which Huawei doesn't have?

What happens if you download the apk directly from WhatsApp.com

Have u tried downloading it from the Huawei App Store?

There is a fix for this on the My Huawei App community.

Which EMUI are you running?

Hie I am having the same problem.. Does it mean huawei p40 is not working on watsup
 
Had se same problem since Tuesday, so I guess Im a bit late to the party.

I used an old android phone, loaded whatsapp, and linked my Huawei's whatsapp to it. Oh, and its just not Huawei. Even the Windows Store version, is classed as unofficial

I got the same problem on my p40 lite, been struggling with this for the last two months. No matter how many options i try, i can't access or download WhatsApp for some reason
 
Sjoe, that is bit of a work around, not sure many users would be able to do this and how long before that doesn't work either?
