Whatsapp showing numbers only???

Morning all, wife's Samsung suddenly changed overnight to showing numbers only for her WA contacts ?

Normal contacts list also completely buggered up. Loads of names with repeats.

She assured me the phone was not touched during the night!

Any ideas ? All the solutions re deleting and adding and taking out sim etc have done nothing.

Syncing contacts with a cloud service?

Disable it so the contact list is empty and then re-sync again.

Check if the cloud service (guessing google ) also has duplicates.

If so clean them up there with the provided tools.

I deleted whatsapp and then installed it again. The numbers were still showing instead of names until I rebooted. My contact list is still buggered up though.

Thanks guys. Did complete reset to nothing and started over.
Took an hour but everything is now super fast and back to normal

Could still be the wife's phone i know if my wife's phone get a problem i dont get to relax until her phone work right again.
