Hi

I need to get my wife's very old golf to a wheel alignment place.
Where is the most cost effective place to go?
Most places seem very expensive.
I'm not necessary looking for the cheapest, just the best value for money.
Preferably in the Southern Suburbs.

Thanks

I've always found the guys at Supaquick in Tokai to be very reliable and well-priced.

If you want it done right try Good Hope Tyres in Durban road Bellville - I drive all the way from Stellenbosch to them because they do it right.

check groupon. They usually have some nice specials by superquick - usually Observatory & Mitchells plain branches

My wheel alignment is always 'in' which means it's free. The technician needs some cool drink money though.

Yes, I used them when I lived in Cape Town, and they were fine.

@OP - would you rather have a cheap job where you will be replacing tyres more often, or a more expensive one where you know that everything is 100%

This all goes hand in hand with safety, and in that case there is no point in cutting corners due to cost. Go to the best!

no the cheap job for R99 is the proper one where they use the 3d thing...i been to ones that charge r250 and the r99 one and no difference

I had mine done at Ford foreshore when they offered at the service, balancing and alignment. Big mistake. When I got the car back the steering had vibrations, so much so that at 80km/h my watch was jingling on my wrist due to the vibrations.

I took it back, having to book it in and be without the car for a day. All that changed was the vibrations came in at 100km/h, this after I told them to freeway test it.

I took it to TWT Canal Walk and they fixed it imediately. One wheel wasn't balanced and the alignment was out.

I am happy to spend a little extra for a decent job, but after phoning around there are people charging 200, some charge 250/260 and some charge 300. I'm curious as to why there is a discrepancy.
I'll probably end up going to SupaQuick in Tokai. I got them to replace, balance and align my car.
Will keep an eye on groupon. Don't see any specials today ;)
