Is it just me that never seems to have their wheel alignment done properly?

On my last 3 cars when I've had it done, the car tracks slightly left, I have taken my Audi in twice now and every time they make it go further left and now my steering wheel is completely skew as well. :wtf:

Just me?

Alignment mostly is just a toe adjustment and wont affect the car pulling one way or another. normally a tire swop left to right will rectify.
Unless Camber or Caster is off on one side.

I have the steering wheel problem with one alignment shop. every time its about 5-10 degrees off and increases at the next alignment

Could be your powersteering acting up. I'd take it to a different alignment center first though. They normally give printouts of the alignment (Before and after) - does this provide any useful info in your case?

They give me printouts but I am just a layman and don't know what the measurements mean... I'm going to try a different shop and refuse to pay until they sort it out, being slightly on the OCD side, the skew steering wheel is really messing with my mind lol.

Skew steering wheel is definitely a problem :p

Just keep in mind that you will always experience a slight pull to the left as the street is slanted for rain water drainage.

had a similar thing awhile ago - it was a toe issue.Basically the bolt/bolt bushing that you use to adjust the toe was worn.So basically they would correct it as close to oem spec as possible but because the bushing was messed up it couldnt be rotated enough to the correct degree.Once i bought a new bolt and bushing it was sorted.

match those on the printout to your oem specs. You will find the wheel alignment specs in your service manual

I'll ask the shop to have a look for me, the car is 5 years old so it's completely possible that that's the case.

post the printout - want to check against mine.Went for an alignment this morning

I know with my cars, only the dealer can align them properly. Its expensive, takes over and hour. But the car rides beautifully after.

I love reading a topic when there is no copy and paste.
It adds real value to opinion.

I've accepted my Corsa Lite , I take it to the alignment place, it's cool for some time then it goes back to where it's comfortable, slightly pulling to the right, it also shows on the steering wheel.

Same with my Figo, stays dead centre for a while then it goes left again.

Well my steering feels a little strange especially turning into a corner there is a slight shudder, so I am already convinced there is a worn control arm or something of the like, but I've just spent over 20k on medical expenses so I am ignoring it for now :D

That does sound like worn control arm or maybe suspension bushings? But knowing that you drive an Audi it might cost just that to get it fixed
