It feels like we should be due for a speed bump soon - anyone know of rumors of Telkom bumping up the speeds or dropping prices? It's sad that my LTE dongle does many times the speed of the 4MB adsl :\

Cruising on 2mbps I am happy. Don't care if they push it up, can only afford 2mb uncapped unshaped account for now...

I can also only afford 4MB right now, but it's about time they bump us up. I wish they would lay fibre in my hood already...
this is why they most likely wont.

Other companies are laying fibre, and it costs the same as for a 40MB line as my 4MB ADSL. Unless they are proactive about it, they are going to lose all their customers sooner or later.
Be proactive and get a demand for it going in your area. Took 18 months but we got it running eventually.

Yea, We only have rich fcks in our area, Still no fibre. My hopes are running low with 123Net...

No, it'll come, start of 2016 it's planned. But I like my 40meg and I don't like contracts, So will most likely stay where I am, maybe get 2 x 40megs and bond them
I received a letter from Telkom a few days ago saying that they were investigating the possibility of installing fibre in my area. I really hope it's happening, and sooner rather than later.
