When are we getting the iTunes Store in SA?

When?

I started using iTunes a few days ago and it's annoying as hell that we can't buy stuff from the iTunes Store. Heck, even Nicole Fox from 5FM was bitching about it on air.
 
I'd estimate somewhere along the same time Telkom gives us 10mb lines with uncapped accounts ;)
 
Well, you could always just register with a US/UK billing address. But there's another level of annoyance - some things are available in the US store that isn't in the UK store and vice versa, and with a UK account you cannot buy from the US store. Rather silly. The worst thing is, some of the songs I was looking for is so old I won't be surprised if it's in public domain by now :-)

You also need a US/UK credit card or music voucher for that country to do that.
 
I stopped buying from the US store when tv shows became 500meg file downloads for 40 minutes! Just not possible with out bandwith here in SA.

I turned to UCT network soon there after. Internal network transfers. ;)

An account is still nice to have for searching for album art :)
 
still have account, just never use it.

I would guess the difference between stores has to do with legal issues like copyrights of material, which might allow some songs to be sold in the UK but not in US through contracts with abc and xyz. That, and something like paypal issues here, where loads of rands would be heading to Cupertino, CA.
 
The US and UK stores are as different as night and day. I just wish  had a real presence here in SA :o

It would have to be more than 95 years old if owned by a corporation or the musician would have to have died 70 years ago if it was still owned by the musician.

When the 95 years is about to be up the big players will sidle up to their pets in government and get them to extend it again. They're currently lobbying for permanent copyright.

Usually at least 300x300. Mostly much more, sometimes (with more obscure stuff) less. I think the smallest I've had to make do with was about 240x240. But since most music programs scale it down in any case, it doesn't really bother me.

But like I said, for what I can't find on google (only a handful, really), the scanner do just fine. My mp3/aac collection is based on my CD collection, after all....

How do you get that to work? I have an iTunes store account (South African) but it just returns no matches. These are rips of my own music CD's, no pirated MP3s etc., but it still doesn't find the art (I have about 60+ albums, couldn't find a single one).

Am I doing something wrong, or does Apple just hate SA customers?
