When does Vodacom 20GB 30 Day Promo End ?

Hmmm, just had it on the TV, it ends 30 April.

Remember to buy your Promo !

All the internet at my house is congested, no ADSL, no Cell C, and MTN and 8ta does not work.

So Vodacom is the only solution, and it is usually too expensive to use.

This is a lifeline for me at the moment, considering that neither ADSL, MTN, Cell C or 8ta works at my house !!!

Oh, Vodacom LTE does not work either, but at least Vodacom 3G is good :D

BTW, I don't live in the Kalahari, this is midway between Sandton City and the Rosebank Mall !!!

OMG, if I think of all the money that I wasted on LTE modems, one each for Vodacom, Cell C and 8ta, none of the LTE services work at my house (Vodacom a little, but too poor to use).

Why not? As long as you use the data, I'm happy. What you use it for is up to you.

Actually want to test Netflix myself at some point. What kind of bitrate do you see for what kind of quality?

I have it set to auto, so not sure what the actual bitrate is.

I find that a movie / episode sometimes starts off a bit grainy, but then adjusts to a higher quality, better than SD on DSTV, but marginally poorer than HD.

This is on a 50" Samsung plasma, and I use a PS3 as a Netflix player.

Note that I have quite good Vodacom 3G, sometimes 14 Mbps DL. I use an E398 modem, which works very well. This modem also supports Vodacom LTE, but I haven't been impressed with that, so I force it to 3G.

Note : I use about 400MB (it varies, though, sometimes less) for a 45min episode, so that gives you an idea of the bitrate.

I bought this yesterday, and no it is not great for Netflix, or Hulu. I am being throttled when I turn on the VPN so can't watch at all. Most irritating!
