When is AWS Gamelift going live in SA?

Yup. Currently AWS launch is set for "first half of 2020" ( https://aws.amazon.com/local/africa/ ), but with something like this it could well be delayed. Also, they'll likely only launch core services and then expand, which may mean a few months or years until all services are available in SA.

Yeah largely like Azure...

Launched with core services, and they are adding as time goes on, and they get more kit into the DC to handle the additional load.
