Might be one of the best months to make an official statement regarding Nov 1 per GB system? For the sake of adding fuel to the growing fire before the October colloquium takes place.
There's been a lot of media exposure on the high Telkom prices lately. Just to mention a few:
- SA foundation (business lobby group) report on high costs and what remedial action to take
- Brazilian-SA communications ministerial meetings about SA being 2 x more expensive for telecoms and 7x more expensive for 512k ADSL
- Russell Southwood, the CEO of Balancing Act addressing delegates at the African Computing and Telecommunications Summit for Africa to transition from high-priced, low-volume broadband to low-priced and high-volume connections
- 1500% profits Telkom makes on per min calls from cell phones
- Banks saying telecommunciation costs are too high (along with transport costs)
