I changed ISP's recently and replied to the sign-up ticket on their system as follows:

Hi
Router received, thank you.

I need a fixed IP - is there an additional cost?

thanks

Good day Neville,

I trust you are well.

Thank you for your mail.

Please kindly send us an image of what you need fixing.

Kind regards

How do I respond to this without being rude?

At first I was just angry. Now I can't stop laughing...

In fairness it’s a static IP not a fixed IP if you want to be a purist.

The correct technical term is stating IP, which the ISP support staff should be familiar with as well, as thats what the service would be called on their end if it's offered..

If we want to nitpick, I am very likely getting a "fixed IP" as per definition attached and not a true static IP.
