When last did your computer had a virus?
I guess might as well ask... 'Do you run anti virus' as a secondary question.

@10:10

For me:
[x] That's a name I've not heard in a long time
[x] None, bare minimum windows av
[x] Run a linux vm for distro backups
Think you missed the part that not only do I sometimes have to deal with very outdated software, but I also have to deal with client thumb drives and other stuff.

I can also add a few personal attacks here but I figured people will figure out who's clone you are and all that good stuff. Also, my threads get locked down. I begin to suspect you might be a mod.

Was this the response you were looking for?

The joke is on you all.

The most effective viruses are the ones that you don't know you have.
Exactly, See the boneheads that run these threads didn't read or can't read. I am not sure. But upon backing up my files to go to win11 my win10 install had a virus that Windows antivirus didn't see at the time. Much later on it easily found it.

But you know they are a pc guru when they bareback the internet and tell others how stupid they are for getting viruses.

For the bonehead club. This is the kind of stuff that is out and about on the web. Given that, he installed the virus with Admin rights in this situation. That means the virus has the ability to add itself to the whitelist and disable the antivirus. Remember Admin rights mean that software can do whatever the hell it wants.

But you start off your post referring to everyone here as "The Bonehead Club". Try taking some of your own medicine perhaps?
Yea, I can't tell who is who anymore. There are 4 individuals each with a lot of accounts here. One is an OP that much I know. But not much I can do about that. I will change it. I figured those who followed these stalkers can figure out who they are. I didn't mean "everyone" as in all contributors. "everyone like the panda person snuff and those groups"

Your blood pressure will thank you if you just use the Ignore function on whoever you don’t like.

I do actually use it. A few members of the bonehead club have been placed on Ignore. It is just this post hit close to home and honestly I wasn't 100% sure about the OP being part of the bonehead club until I saw my name on it. He is being ignored but I thought the thread can do some good. So I added what I thought was relevant and hoped it would help someone.

So reasoned contribution to a discussion is positive.

There are some morons here but I wouldn’t go so far as to assign them malicious intent. I think most do it as a form of entertainment. We like having a joke now and then. It goes far better if you don’t take it personally.

I have no memory of this word "virus". Joke's aside, i've been using OSX /macOS for a decade and run Amazon Linux 2 instances. I think when I was younger and used Windows and heavily torrented I may or may not have been a victim.

Regularly get viruses/malware notifications, but with the tools/utilities I use that's understandable.
Not worried though as Malwarebytes takes care of that easily.
Also haven't suffered any loss from malware yet.

Actually when the last Flighsimulator came out I downloaded a 'trial' version. Noticed my PC was running slow, but only when using apps, as soon as I opened taskbar it was fine. Some clever little Trojan was mining in the background.
