ICASA to take on mobile operators - relieve on the horizon for consumers.
Cost of data set to come down,Neotel to take fight to Telkom.

These are the common eye catching headlines, that catch my attention. In the beginning, I thought this was the start of a revolution. Affordable real broadband services are just a dawn away.

How wrong I have been.We still stuck in the night of artificial prices and below par services.I still see the same restrictive cost for telecoms services everywhere. The majority of us have not experienced, true broadband, when you click on that link, in one smooth, blincking of an eye, the content rich page pops up.No stress, no lethargic - status bar......

The Minister of Communication - lets not even go there. A department that should be the vanguard of the consumer - ensuring that the market is a even and fair playground, is at most reactionary in all their endeavours.

As soon as ICASA makes ready to start cleaning the playground, MTN and Vodacom, threaten legal action....thanks to the billions they are able to make of the backs of the screwed consumer.

Is there not a realisation, that unlocking communications will open the economy to vast opportunities?

We need a tough Communication Minister, one that is willing to play hardball -- you do not want to play nice - fine, lets then use the legislature to enact laws that makes you think twice. How about paying annual royalties on the profits you make?

I am just GVOL with how big companies are able to continue to screw the SA consumer!
