That almost every Joe Public would have ADSL at home if not for the pricing. Speed aside (although that is still a huge issue), pricing is the problem.... I use ADSL at the office and would personally have been paying for it for the past two years if the pricing was favourable. While some people are OK to fork out the monthlies, I have a wife and three kids and can think of many other things to spend my money on at this stage. Unless the price drops, they won't get my money... Sorry to start a new post on this, but it seems the price issue has disappeared among all the speed complaints lately... Anyone else want to rant about price in the hope that the nana's will take note?

well if they havent taken note by now i doubt they ever will

why do they need to take note they make billions just the way everything is

yeah

pity... but hopeully everyone will remember telkom for what they have done when competition or lower prices arrive... out of principle...

i am thinking of getting HomeDSL 384 in August when the prices drop but now i hear that the local caps will be scrutinized as well???? if thats the case then i will stick to my current ISDN link.

i use it mostly for gaming and downloads although international gaming would suffer a tad with ADSL i was ready for the plunge... and now the local cap issue crops up... damn.

Useless...sign up with an ISP that is not on SAIX....they won't have local cap.

i am currently with Mweb. i suppose i wont have issues with them? thanks.

Its pretty obvious, As much money as possible from as little as users as possible. This way they need a low amount of employees, towers, exchanges etc. And they still make the profit that they would from halfing the price to doubling the users.

Telkom want the most from the least, nothing more. This is why Telkom is really a GREAT corporate ****head, they play the game brilliantly :(

Mweb follows the same pricing structure as Telkom does. For a few hundred rand more you can get a much bigger cap from the likes of axxcess et al. I was on Mweb in the beginning and they're really not worth it IMO. I converted to their cheapest dialup (think its r70ish a month) so I can use certain features like iPass.

Telkom really needs to clarify what's going to happen with their new pricing structure.
