Anyone have any idea around when this range will be coming to SA? Or maybe somewhere I can keep an eye for when it will appear? I know its released in Europe. No idea what that means for coming to SA though.

Thanks!

i certainly wont be looking at it ,i have a note 11 pro , worst phone ive had in 28 years ,really terrible experience from software down to camera and battery life .i can honestly say for me its junk .

You need to install a non official ROM. This is the standard one but stripped of the bloat and ads etc and the minimum you should go for.

i also think the problems on this specific range are deeper than just software .camera wont focus ,reception is bad, sound quality is chinese toy quality, screen flickers, proximity sensor doesnt work properly ,double tap hardly ever works ,fingerprint sensor is bad ,videos get cut short while filming .all common Redmi issues if you google it .ive just walked out of MTN with a new A54 ,i use this phone for work invoicing etc its just frustrating and cant risk any software that may be compromised although MIA has said to me miui 14 in july will fix some of it .cant wait .

Sorry to hear that. I have the Note 10 pro, and its the most amazing the phone I ever had. Hope you find better a better experience in the future :)

The link I sent is a community build of the miui rom. Because android is open source and the licence forces the manufacturer to release the source code the eu rom community take that, remove bloat and ads, fix some of the issues and then publish it as a custom rom. So you may find the camera app in the eu rom is better than the original rom as an example.

But yes thats your perogative to trust or not trust the eu community devs but the source code is also available for people to look for any dodgy code.

im actually keen to try it once my new phone is up and running ,just to see if it does make a difference ,but with my luck i may just brick it ,i would need a very good tutorial to explain the steps otherwise disaster would be inevitable .any Links on how to do it .

oddly enough ,every thing i read on the 11s problems ,its the same on all the 11pros .and all are saying the 10 was fantastic .so maybe the 12 will be better again .i was very disappointed in it .in the last 2 weeks a lot of patches have come through with bug fixes so maybe still hope for others with the same problem.

Your keyboard is still broken.

havent changed from my note 11 pro to new phone yet but guess i have no choice now ,was also advised against non sanctioned software by a fairly knowledgable phone guy .This is now my Redmi phones latest .its absolute junk .

Does anyone know if the Redmi Note 12 Pro from Vodacom has NFC?
I have a choice between the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Samsung A34, any thoughts?

I wouldn't advise the Redmi unless you are prepared to change to a custom ROM. The main reason people buy them is because the hardware is good for the price but the OS is pretty painful. The 12 series is also a poor choice hardware wise you can get better for the price like the Xiaomi Poco F4\F5 the redmi 13 range also looks better again. The OS on the A34 will be better software wise but in lower spec. The Samsung A54 is more in line with the note 12 pro.

Real life testing has actually shown the A54 isn't much faster then the A34.
Xiaomi used to be great when it had the value proposition, now not so much.

There are still a few gems but it's definitely not like it was. SA also only seem to get the junk phones dumped here at a marked up price.

This is also what I heard. After 5 Redmi's as my daily phone, it looks like I am switching brands
