So this morning was the official opening of the new grocery section of the Game in Galleria, go todays local paper, pulled out the game leaflet to see what deals they have, too my surprise I saw a Metz flash listed at R1300 off which is listed at R200, there's no way I'm going to miss out on that deal, so I go to Game and make a b line for the camera section but I cannot find the flash on the floor, asked the salesperson, seems they had received no stock, so sadly I have to wait and as soon as they receive the stock I can pick it up.:(
 
Shouldn't this be in hardware bargains? Or is this the anecdotes thread?

True to form, for the Game stores... they do it to pull people into the store.
 
I don't buy there for precisely this reason.
Its so predictable, they put faux specials in their paper to lure people to the store.
I have even fought them with the Consumer Protection tribunal, all they do is say sorry and give you what you wanted, by which point you no longer want or need it.

Ask them to write a chit so you can get one next week when they recieve stock

Out of interest, did you end up buying other stuff while you were there?

Can you post the special here? Was it only for Game in Galleria or all Game stores?

All I know is kick up a big fuss and insist on taking a slightly more expensive model with the same discount and every time it has worked for me.

Once they did that to me... and I insisted on them sourcing the item for me. This was the first time.

It was an end of range item and when it arrived they phoned me to collect. When I pitched someone sold it to a friend at the special price so I recieved a refund voucher to the value of the discount.

Did not want anything else so I went and cashed out the R800 refund voucher.
