where are the software update files stored ?

A friend of mine needs to do update his mac os but he does not have internet, now being that internet is like sooooo expensive in south africa & i have already updated my os, is there a way to find these files, burn it & give it to him so he can update his os ?

Im talking about the major updates, like MAC OS, itunes, quicktime, iphoto, bla bla bla ...

anyone ?

If you havent selected "Download only" or "Install and keep package" from the Software update menu then no, all you'll have are package receipts.

just checked system preferences/software update, under the update software tab, it has clicked check daily & clicked download important updates in the background.

Where is the "download only" or "install and keep package" options ?

& if it is selected, which directory do i find the update packages ?

Why not pop down to your local iStore and have them burn the updates to disk for you, they normally do this for free.

I suppose it depends if you have an obliging retailer in the area. I dont think we do.
