I exist only in my own mind ...
ok, so i'm not a soccar fan, but i tuned in to sabc1 abd they are showing a live caf game and there are absolutely no spectators, all the seats are empty.

Is this the norm?

Just checked, i do hear some vuvuzelas, so there are a few fans ... probably behind the cam... I think its that nedbank challenge, so supersport are playing a team that is not too highly rated :P

Sadly this is a norm. For some reason SA teams don't take the CAF CL and Confed Cup seriously. We've only ever had one winner of these tournements. I think that it's a major reason why Bafana's home based players do badly, they don't have continental experience. The clubs used to say that the shedule is a problem, as SA's PSL runs from August to May (normally), and CAF comps run from February to Novemeber.

Also, PSL teams do not have a fixed home stadium, so half the time they play so far from their base.

And PSL mentality will always support Chiefs, Pirates or Celtic even if supersport win 100 times, they will not beat chiefs for fan support

I think SuperSport need to realise that more work is done off the field in order to garner more supporters. You need a flambouyant PRO to build the brand and maybe sign a couple of big name players etc.

I really hope that post WC we wont see teams moving games all over the place in the middle of a season. I wish the PSL would put a rule in place to say that teams can only move games with special permission, and then only to cities without other PSL teams in them.

Titally agree with this, all PSL teams need to do more to become a part of their home cities.
