Hi guys

Does anyone know who sells empty cd/dvd spindles? Getting rid of old DVD boxes taking up space, and I need more spindles.

Thanks!

what about paper sleeves (I bought from PNA), and empty 5L wine boxes. You can store hundreds of disc easily this way.

Or you could use DVD Fab and convert them to a 3TB drive.

Thanks guys, but would prefer not to go with wallets as they take up much more space than spindles. Thanks for the Chinatown mention though - they might have. Hadn't thought of a wine box (or any other box) though. That could actually work you know :)

I suppose cataloguing a 10 unit spindle is doable but 25/50/100 unit spindles must be a PITA. From my experience wallets don't take up much more space than a spindle and are far easier to use.

... still, each to their own :)

just get a dowel stick, screw it onto a base and you have a meter high cd spindle. varnish it and you have a VIP meter high spindle.

What is this CD your speak of?

Something you usually purchase music on, which allows you to transfer the ownership of the said music (which you can't do with legal downloads), while at the same time allows you to rip the music into digital format and use on all devices while the CD is still in your possession.

I have a better idea, buy a full spindle, remove the CDs/DVDs, then you have an empty spindle.

Of course, you then have the clutter of all those blank CDs and DVDs. I will take them off your hands at no extra cost. Isn't that a bargain?

:p

Find some smaller retailer that sells PC consumables to the public such as http://www.cartridgeservices.co.za/contact.php and I'm sure that they will have some on hand. My local supplier gives them away when he too many lying around!

Not a bad idea, thanks for the suggestion. Will see how China Town works out first.

Haha. I might end up buying the cheapest blank CDs/DVDs I can find and dumping the discs after that.
