Hi folks,

Can anybody tell me where i can get a replacement battery for my Harmony One remote? I have been searching high and low without much success.

The battery has started to bulge which is a known issue with the Harmony batteries and I need to replace it as soon as possible. You can get them very easily on Amazon, etc and I really don't want to go through Have2Have / Wantitall.

I did find a contact number for Logitech in SA and I am hoping they will help, but I am pretty much not putting my hopes up too high. Hoping for alternative solutions.

On Amazon, you can get a replacement battery for $10 US. Pity I don't know anybody who is going there.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks, but the Amazon.co.uk partner does not stock the battery for the Harmony One. Couldn't find it. :( As I said, I am aware of Wantitall, but hell R322 for a $10 item is a complete rip off.

Wow, I didn't think consider eBay. Thanks very much. Will check them out indeed.

Will call the Logitech local distributor as well to find out if I can get a battery locally in any case.

If anybody has more suggestions, let me know.

Logitech just rebrands (and charge a premium for) Nokia BLB-2 batteries in the Harmony series. I know my Harmony One and 900 uses the same battery ... not 100% sure that it is a BLB-2, but I know the 880 uses BLB-2's.

So, just go get one at any cellphone shop, should be a lot cheaper than going through Logitech.

TYR, thanks for the heads up. When I searched for a replacement battery on Amazon, the battery lists many remotes that the battery can work with, so if the BLB2 battery works on your 880, it should work on the One.

I am definately going to price them at a cellphone shop.

I'm looking to buy a harmony one or 900, but, they seem to be out of stock on all the local SA sites. Anyone know where i can buy one around Cape Town?

Well, the Nokia BLB2 batteries are very hard to find. Tried my local Vodacom shop. Then went to another cellphone shop that sold generic batteries. Thank goodness I had the remote with me and tried it out - didn't work.

SO, now I am attempting eBay. There are a few sellers that ship worldwide .. just contacted one to ask about a trackable shipping option.

@scud, I'm sorry to say but the Harmony One has been discontinued. Logitech does not have it on their site any more - they want to sell their remote business in any case . sad indeed.

With this in mind, I am making double sure that I look after my Harmony One with extra care .. make sure it does not slip and drop on the floor, etc.

Hi, I have now read about a few problems that Harmony owners experienced with BLB-2 batteries, so you might just want to go for the real thing instead. Seems the Nokia batteries work fine, but do not charge through the remote in the cradle. This can be fixed by bridging the two middle contacts on the Nokia battery. The Nokia battery uses this split contact to monitor battery temperature, I believe, but this results in the Harmony's centre pin to only make contact on the wrong half of that battery contact.

Anyways, I'm the type that would still order and mod this battery if I ever need a replacement, but like I said you might prefer to rather get an original Logitech battery instead. Apologies if my first post has led you on a wild goose chase. Hope you find a working battery soon.

That's so strange, it seems like nobody wants to be making these things, but there should be a massive demand out there

I just registered on this Forum, to say Thanks to you Buddy !

I have ordered 2 NOK BLB-2 Batteries for my Logitech harmony 885 and 890, and both batteries weren't charging with the charging dock.
I just scratched the middle contact and put some solder into it, now both batteries are charging and working again.

Many THANKS for Tip.
