So everyone is quite aware that this time last year some idiotic bureaucrats got it into their mind that there needs to be a Protea on the shirt of every South African sporting jersey. So this was the design implemented last year for the Springboks: http://www.thebrandunion.co.za/Images/News/137/on-page-01.jpg

Now that is fine, has no roots, but fine. Now the world cup is over a month away and the new Bafana Bafana 2010 World Cup Shirt has been unveiled. Here it is: http://www.adidas.com/product_images/P41442_F_p2.png

And the Protea is where??? Do a quick search on google and you will find that the fake shirts have this Protea...Since when does a fake shirt have more badges than the official one. So does anyone know why there are "new" "special" rules? Im thinking that it has got something to do with FIFA but I thought SA was a sovereign country......:wtf:

You're a bit late to the party. Some offical Bafana shirts were sold without the protea in them. The problem has now been fixed. If you have an offical shirt sold without a protea, you can have it added on a sportsmen warehouse and a few other places. Look up a thread called Bafana protea fiasco, so something like that, we had quite a few threads about this a while back.
