Was watching the rugby yesterday with mates and the crime/immigration conversation came up, surprise, surprise.
Don't you think safety from criminals is even more of a right than education..... comparing the two i would say education or health care are even privileges.
Long story short, I was lambasted because i said i would draw the line when i felt i couldn't safely go to the shops at 1 or 2 in the morning for whatever reason i chose. In turn i was told that i was insane to go to the shop at that time, not just crazy but actually looking to get robbed and DESERVE it!
Come on, things aren't that bad and sure maybe chances are higher but i did it in Jhb and do it in Cpt.
I can understand women being a bit cautious, but am i the only person who thinks it's my right to go to the shops when i please and not be looking for a adrenaline rush?
What would be enough for you? When would the looking over your shoulder get to be too much? Malema as president? Removal of farmlands? What would need to happen for you to seriously consider leaving the land you love so much?
