Where does the filter go?

I have a fax machine now, with my ADSL.

Where do I plug it in? Must I connect a filter?

You plug the fax machine in a filter, yes The only line which should not use a filter is your ADSL modem/router

Thanks teraside, I had it like that. The fax machine is broken , the dial tone is up and working but when I put it back on the "mikkie" , it doesn't work.

The "mikkie" is broken.
