Where is Koo sweetcorn...

People in the Cape never evolved ...... We take a mielie, crush it, then make pap or bread.
But that's not sweetcorn right? It's from a different type of corn - maize?

It's all maize.. under maize there are I think six different types of corn, including sweetcorn.. sweetcorn is harvested somewhat earlier than other types of corn, to retain moisture and sweetness..

for @HunterNW who is still a bloody caveman !!!

Hey slobs, grab you're cobs! : funny

You must be one of those people who smothers their steak with mash..

Nah, I'm with you on that "cake". Steak should be eaten after rested, not "iced" in potatoes. I'd still eat it if it was given to me though.

Corn on the cob (sweetcorn)? Sure.

EDIT - I'm never sure if mielies and sweetcorn are the same thing here.
Yellow mielies on the cob are the same as sweet corn without the cream sauce.
White lielies on the cob on the other hand (especially if still fresh are almost as good on the cob as yellow mielies.
Think of it this way, sweet corn and corn on the cob is just another form of popcorn.
