My hdd failed on my laptop. I'm tired of having hard drive failures every 2 years and as such decided to try going the sad route. Speed is a very welcome bonus.

Size is pretty important as I do not have another SATA slot in my laptop. I'm pretty set on 500gb as I think 250gb is too small and 1TB too expensive. I almost bought the 1TB on carbonate but I realised that it draws a lot more idle power than the samsung/corsair drives. Behind capacity, power draw will probably be the second most important thing for me. I'm not too worried about reading/writing at 550 MB/s, a couple of 100MB/s will be just fine.

I play some games, but considering I am on a laptop I'm not going to be buying the ssd for gaming performance.
