Where to from here? Which SP?

My cables have been stolen again - 7th time in 3 months. Apparently this time round its 3800metres and Telkom has to get permission from Ekuhurleni Municipality to dig alongside their cables to lay new ones. So no end in sight as to when the service is going to be restored.

So next on the agenda is to go wireless. Telkom are replacing the cables, the signal in our area is dismal even though the 8.ta website declares otherwise. Telkom came out to do a check in the front of our yard and at the back of our yard. With the signal being so poor, they are basically not even allowed to install a wireless set up in our home.
Vodacom HSPDA fluctuates between non-existent to fair.
IBurst's coverage looks promising too.
What about MWeb?

Any recommendations??? I dont know what to do anymore... :(
 
Have you inquired if you could get Telkom Wimax? Their Wimax product is excellent (even though I think they're not actively doing installations anymore) and you can use a normal ADSL account with it.
 
I spoke to their HO about this. They have discontinued the Wimax - apparently.
 
I think your only other option outside of 3g alternatives now is checking with one of the following:

- iBurst(intotears)
- Sentech
- Jhb WUG (Wireless User Group), perhaps someone there is within range of you and can offer some sort of connectivity, don't quote me on this though.
