Where to get a Virgin SIM

You mean with a 3G phone or data card? I'd suggest waiting a bit until Virgin can get them into the starter packs.

If you're going to use the card in an EDGE/GPRS phone or data card, then the current card will work. You'll find them at Woolworths and Musica (check Virgin Mobile's site for a list of shops in your area).

Would like to get a Virgin SIM to use for data ....... who, what, where, when, how much ?

As long as the device you want to use don't have 3G it should work. You can buy a starter pack for R89 then you get R50 airtime on it. That is 100MB!!!!!!

I'll also suggest you wait for the new sims. It should be available by the end of this month.

Just want to test the SIM so I can compare it with Vodacom GPRS.

What is wrong with the old SIM's ?

16 or 32 k SIM's ?

From my experience the old sim (64k) works in some 3G phones but not in the 3G/HSDPA data cards.

The new sim (128k) doesn't work in any 3G device at all.

We are waiting for a newer sim that should work 100% in all devices.

If you going to use your phone as a modem then any sim should work, that is if you don't have a 3G device.

U can buy a virgin sim from Virgin Actives, Woolworths and Clicks stores. Its about R80 or R90 and you get R50 or 100mb free airtime pre loaded.

Top-up via Absa ATM

Works well in N70 getting slowish EDGE speeds in Umtentweni, KZN - 8-15kb/s
