As the title says,

Need quotes. Has to be IBM or Sun (Oracle) server. But out of interest I'd like to get prices on Dell servers also.

Who resells these? Where can one go for quotes?

Any help appreciated.

I know people who supply these, myself included but you're better off going straight to the source if you're going to spend a large amount of money (as I assume you are, talking about IBM and Sun servers).

What you can do is post this thread in the dealer requests section of hardware and possibly in the Networking ans Security section.

Yeah that is how it will be done in the end, it is just about determining the general price.

Why IBM or Sun/Oracle? What operating system will you run? Is the choice application-driven? If your apps can run on Dell too, why not HP or Cisco (yes, Cisco does servers too)? And won't you need services - installation, support (24x7? 99.999% uptime?). There are plenty of good server-capable resellers out there, and some narrowing of the focus would help. How big is this? How many users?

Try Netsurit.com they are a Dell partner.

Thanks all round. Got sorted, I ended up using the IBM configuration tool online.

To clarify, we were going to go straight from the start, I just needed to prepare a quote, to get a general idea of cost and specifications.

As to why IBM or Sun, that is the only options the company will except, we use IBM and Sun and that is it.
