Using the only link I can get to work on the MTN site for Dashboard/E220 drivers seems to want to download the software for the E620. Does anyone know if this is compatible, or will it be a wasted download? Or is there a dedicated E220 upgrade link somewhere that works?

I found some drivers on the MTN Nigeria website, not sure if its what you're looking for ...

Absolutely spot-on, thanks! Downloaded it with no difficulty, and who would have thought in techno-leading South Africa we would have to turn to Nigeria for software!

Quickie: anyone know if a firmware update is also needed to get the 7.2 speed, or is it all in the software? If so, where de firmware please? Don't tell me: Nigeria.......?

According to MTN it is a firmaware update, but the link is just ... dead. Like the rest of the billing dept. - hehehehe

The 27.7MB download labeled "E620 This firmware upgrade will ensure optimum performance of your E620 on the MTN network." on this page contains 16MB of Adobe Acrobat Reader, an 8MB MTN dashboard installer, 3MB of E620 manuals and no firmware!

All the software is being updated with latest files and will be published on Friday.

And no, I don’t work in that department. I’m just the messenger.

Another FAIL is the firmware update doesn't detect my E220 even though the software that I connect to the internet (default with the modem) does...

**** me MTN is lame

My internet connection for the past few days at home can ping/telnet/tracert but do you think I can surf the web or download email? Nope... too much to ask I guess

*loves throwing money into the endless depth that is SA internet*

I hope you closed that software with which you connect to the internet, otherwise the firmware updater would not be able to access the port.
