Hi all.

I'm looking for the wired xbox controller for pc. Does anyone have any idea which stores keep stock? I've ordered one from ikonicit but their dumb*** couriers just lost the parcel! I need it for a birthday present for tomorrow.

Titan-Ice seems to have stock, just call them before you go to make sure. If you try and buy one in a normal shop like CNA or Incredible Corruption they'll look at you funny and tell you a wired controller doesn't exist.

I called but they didn't have stock and neither did their supplier. Oh well. Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.

Is there any difference between the wired and wireless controllers wrt using them on the pc besides the fact than one is wireless and needs charged batteries?

The wireless jobbies also need a receiver dongle on the PC. I *think* the latest ones come bundled with it, but I'm not sure whether that applies to local stock. They also aren't supplied with rechargeable batteries - that's another couple of hundred bucks...

But otherwise is the quality the same? eg. there's no lag because of the wireless or something? I used to have wireless mouse and it had a lag on it.

Must've been an utterly shyte mouse. :p

I can't say I've ever used my wireless controllers on the PC; I've got a wired controller for that. But I've only ever used wireless controllers on the 360 since launch, and there's no discernible lag.

Ok thanks.

Just one last thing I wanted to know - if I buy the wireless controller that comes with the receiver, does that receiver only work with that controller or can I then use any xbox wireless controller with the same receiver?

I get mine from prophecy.

They also have the Razer version:

I prefer wired as no batteries to worry about :P

I just got back from btgames and I saw that info on the box so I bought it :P Thanks so much for the help. Much appreciated.

hmm, I did look at prophecy although I didn't check in the beta products which is probably why I didn't see it. But now I know for future though. Thanks

I've seen a few at various BT Games & Matrix Warehouses over the last few months, with the prices ranging from R300-R500 or so.
