I have had internet issues. They started about 2 months ago and it's got progressively worse. It started with few spikes here and there, but it's become so intermittent that I can't even go a day without having some sort of issue. Here is a pathping I did this morning. Take note I live about 1.8km's from the exchange.

As you can see, I have problems right from the very start and I have checked everything my side to make sure it wasn't our fault. New router (Netgear DGND3700v2) new cable to the Telkom PCB etc. Telkom have sent out numerous technicians, and each and every one have commented on how clear my line is....... Not that I reported it as a problem with my telephone, but rather that it was latency spikes and dropped packets on the ADSL line. My exchange is not congested as per telephone conversations with 10210 and simply talking with the techies who came out to listen to my telephone and comment on how clear it was. Finally I was able to escalate the fault and they said they found a fault with the underground cable and simply closed the fault on their side without acknowledging that it was, in fact, still not working correctly. I need to know where to go now as I can't stand this level of service any longer.

Lol they judged exchange congestion by listening to the phone line??

It's 100% not CW as I get the exact same stats using both a Afrihost account and finally an Axxess account. Believe me it's also not the router as I've synced this specific model at a friends place and it ran perfectly. I also happen to like netgear routers :). What's wrong with a full pathping if I may ask?

@Sinbad. No, they didn't. I had to specifically ask them if there were any other people complaining about slow speeds in the area and they told me, about 4 of them, that this was isolated. They were simply commenting on how clear the line was, as that was the sum total of their knowledge when it comes to ADSL.

Right...but are they routing the traffic differently?

With low pings and zero loss on the first couple of hops I don't see why the line/router etc is even under suspicion here?

I got a new router as my previous router was literally on it's last legs and I could then also say with 100% certainty that it was not any equipment on my side that Telkom could blame for my issue. Yes they do route the traffic differently HavocXphere, I would gladly show you those pathpings as well to prove this.
