Where to go to get a splinter removed?

Hey guys,

So I think I have a splinter in my foot. There is a spot on the sole of my foot that forms like a raised callous. It hurts a little sometimes. The callous is maybe around 5mm in diameter, so I thought it is too small for it to be from the way that I walk or something. It's the size of a pimple or something.

It's been on my foot since December at least, so more than a month. Every now and then, I try to hack at it with nail scissors to see if I can dig anything out. But, I can't find anything. I don't think I'm going deep enough though.

I'm pretty sure it is a splinter, because I can't think what else could cause this. If it's not a splinter, what do you guys think it could be?

If it is a splinter, do you think a nurse at a pharmacy would be able to sort it out? It's too deep to respond to tricks like baking soda on the skin.
 
by the sound of things you want the splinter removed from your foot :D


but in seriousness, first try find some extract, go to the local pharmacy, chat to the people there. I got some of this magic stuff about 4 years ago when I had a splinter on the side of my nail. put it on the wound with a plaster over it, the next morning there was enough to grab hold with tweesers.
 
I would have it removed at the point where it entered the skin.
To remove it through the mouth or anus is going to be too much work.
 
Sounds like some sort of foot fungus/virus.

Hmmm, yeah it might not be a splinter after all.

I think what I'll do is wait for the outer layer of the skin to regrow, since I've just scratched at it. Then I'll go to the pharmacy and ask them what to do. They might recommend that I see my GP, or otherwise maybe the nurse can take a look quickly.

From there I can decide what to do.

You can try some jays fluid on some cotton and cover with a plaster (consult your doctor first).
 
Pay the money and go see your GP. You don't want it getting infected.
