Now that Suktech have cancelled the classic packages and we all going to cancel and leave suktech, i feel we should all open a thread and discuss the best options available to us?

What you all think?

I'm going to stick out my contract. Everywhere else seems a lot more expensive

Current setup : 4 PCs via router, 2 active constantly on the net, the other 2 only WinXP and AVG updates (at the moment)

My current usage : very, very seldom hit 3GB, but was nice to know that I could schedule the odd 700MB d/l without worrying. Latency is a problem, to the extent that I've stopped using the connection for work purposes

ADSL - Not an option until next year.....sometime....I think

GOAL BPL - Not an option, since they have NO indication of where or when they are going to expand their offering

GlobalWebIntact - Awaiting a response from them. However, at first glance, not a viable option for me, since they have no home package other than 128 and nothing above 256K

Iburst - Looks my ONLY option, will have to trail the product though, possibly through my existing provider NoWire. Just bugs me to fork out more cash for ANOTHER proprietary modem

I've been with 24-7Online for a few months now and they are the worst bloody business I have ever had anything to do with. STAY AWAY From them. They're rude, unhelpfull, slow both connection and everything else. I WOULD LOVE CAPPED ADSL FROM TELKOM OVER THIS S:mad: %T. My e-mail is slow and my hosting company says its entirely my ISP after doing a tracert. My connection has been down twice for up to 5Hours when phoned they said it was a problem in the Cape Town area but they resolved it at 3AM. I'm trying to run a business and the internet just shuts down for 5Hours. They are F^&%%King useless.

from another thread....

To answer the OP's question - I'm considering iBurst. I had them out to do a speed test today, and the guy was capped and got around 70kbps. Wierd.

How about Internet Solutions uncapped ADSL 1 mbps @ R1350 per month plus line rental? I know that's damned expensive but I'm actually considering that. Anybody got experience on that?

I mean, theoretically you should be able to pull 10 GB a day through that thing (theoretically). Suppose you get half of that in reality that still means you'll be handed > 150 GB per month. I can live with that. Need a couple of extra HDDs though.
