Which 2TB SSD: Samsung 870 QVO or Sandisk SSD Plus?

I have good experience with Samsung SSD but Sandisk (by Western Digital) is also a good brand and it costs a bit less...

You need to be a bit more specific, give us the exact model numbers of both drives! What will you be using the ssd for, an OS drive or general storage? I'm assuming they're both SATA drives?

I would avoid the QVO drive, speed is really not good once you hit the cache limit because of the quad layer NAND used

Many thank. Yes, both are SATA drives, on Win10, not that demanding applications though (editing the photograps, watching movies, nothing extraordinary).

The Samsung QVO uses V-NAND QLC as per table I found here: https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/sandisk-vs-samsung-ssd.html

The Sandisk Plus was a bit of challenge to find what flash type does it use but it looks like SanDisk's second generation 19nm MLC NAND as found here: https://www.anandtech.com/show/8827/sandisk-announces-entrylevel-ssd-plus-ultra-ii-msata

Ps. I'm probably more after reliability/endurance than speed...

I'm having a bad experience with a Samsung 850 Pro which is dying on me just 4 years into it's supposed 10 year warranty period. It's not even giving me write errors, but flash read errors, and it's only had 1.7TB written out of its rated 300TBW. Quite disappointed really.

Note that that issue can also be anywhere in the chain from sata controller, dirty cable, motherboard issue, etc.

First make a back-up, then use it in another machine as a test to see if issue is still there, if yes, contact Samsung and ask them for a replacement.

Yes, I'm backing it up as we speak and will try a different external enclosure/ cable combo. Thanks,
