So has the networks decided which frequency they will be using for LTE?
If so which modems are compatible with all or most of the current networks.
Maybe someone would be so kind as to draw us up a little table.

Vodacom 1800MHz FDD - I use a Huawei E398 for this
Cell C 2100 MHz FDD - I use a Huawei E3276 for this
8ta 2300MHz TDD - I use a Huawei E392 for this

There is no MTN reception where I live.

Note that all of the modems above are available in different versions that have different specs, you have to make sure that you get the right one.

It was, for example, difficult to get the E392 for 2300MHz TDD, that came from Saudi Arabia.

Damn, there must be one that can be used on at least 3 networks.
Thanks for the info Jola

Vodacom, Cell C and MTN will work with the E3276 that Cell C sells.

8ta with 2300MHz TDD is something quite different.

Just a warning, not many routers work with the E3276 - the Dovado Pro and Tiny do.

Just got a TP-Link WDR3600 from Uniterm (kernel), E3276 is on the ROOTer list.
Thanks Jola, will readup some more. Main networks im on are 8ta, CellC & MTN.
