Hi Guys,

I am sure this has been asked before but could you either point me to the relevant thread or:

I am confused with all the Service Providers offering Cheap ADSL offerings that i reasoned the best would be to ask people on this forum based on their experiences WITH the different service providers

To me, Cybersmarts Weekender Plus makes sense as it's a 384kb line (not sure how fast that is)
with a 10GB cap, you can carry over unused GBS AND weekend surfing is free which i assume means i can queue my downloads to run over the weekend?
R299 a month for this package and a 384KB Line

Could you let me know if this sounds like a good deal or of any BETTER deals?

Wish i could get an ADSL line WITHOUT the need for a telkom telephone line first

Cybersmart / MWEB?

Thanks in advance :-)

just 2 quick questions, how much is the maximum are you willing to spend every month and what are you primarily looking to use the ADSL for?

My spend

i was expecting to pay around R500 in total for the telkom landline, ADSL line and Data

I would be using it to surf and download music, youtube vids and movies which i would queue overnight

I see that the MWEB offer is also attractive but that it's SHAPED on the 384kbps option

Cost for 384K ADSL connection:

Telkom Analog line rental: R131 p/month
Telkom 384K ADSL rental: R152 p/month
Our 384K shaped uncapped: R180 p/month

Total: R463 p/month

Although our uncapped accounts are shaped, you can use one of our websites, rapidleech.co.za, to download fullspeed from filesharing websites like Rapidshare, Hotfile and lots of others. With our shaped accounts, priority is given to business protocols, for example: website browsing, e-mails, FTP, SSH etc. Only torrents, p2p and filesharing websites are heavily shaped, but as I said, you can use rapidleech.co.za to get full speed downloads on a shaped uncapped account.

thanks reuben, forgive my ignorance but if i have a 384kb line and i download at 'full' speed from rapidleech.co.za, what speed can i expect? thanks :-)
