I want to change my indoor trainer, and the one I'm considering requires that my iPad have Bluetooth 4 else it won't work. How can I see which I have? Both my iPad mini and iPad are tears old so I suspect they may not be :-(

Thank you. The writing is freaking small !! Seems I have iPad 4 and the mini also has Bluetooth 4 so I should be OK

Still running my trusty iPad 2, it seems to also be getting the iOS 10 update, insane length of support.

Nope it's not. iPad cutoff for iOS 10 is iPad 4 onwards & iPhone 5 onwards.

That's what they said the last couple of times. Others seem to be saying that Apple will support the iPad 2 due to so many enterprises still running iPad 2s.
Let's see who's going to be right at the end, don't use my iPad past reading books anyways.

There does seem to be lots of back & forth. I think the iPad 2 will not be ideal for iOS 10. If they do allow it I won't complain; I have an iPad 3.

The "others" are wrong. The link above is not from a trustworthy source. See attached pic, it is straight off Apple's website. Don't know how there could still be speculation on the issue.

Joe the Kickr work with all ipads from the ipad3 and up. I use mine with my ipad3 and my wifes ipad air.
I would recommend if you are going to use zwift or some of the others to get an ANT+ dongle for a pc/laptop.

I have a power beam pro at the moment with the necessary Bluetooth HRM etc and Cycleops software on the iPad.

But with me and the wife sharing it it is becoming a schlep changing wheels the whole time. I also have a cheapie wheel and cassette for the "trainer" wheel so frustrates me more than anything hence the thinking of going for something else.

Would like a power beam 300 but that is Ant+ only so thinking of going this route, else wait for the Hammer to arrive ...

Must use an iPad as I don't have a PC that I could use for the cycling
