Now it's the 1st of October and everyone's "buy 5MB, get 25MB free" bundles have expired, which options are you considering for low data usage (checking email on your mobile, mxit, etc)?

The 5MB bundles are hardly worth the effort, they cost R9.25 but the out-of-bundle price would be R10, so you save a whopping 75c!
MTN at least have a R10 for 10MB bundle.

I'll probably just stay out of bundle and use my mobile less.

I don't know - I've been wondering the same thing.

If only low-usage bundles were cheaper... or carried over indefinitely.... or the OOB rate was cheaper.... But hey, it's not like we haven't wished for this already :)

Its true, I don't see how anyone will want to purchase small data bundles now that the specials are over. I thought it was a trial to see the effect of lowered prices on overall demand. And i can say that it worked! I bought twice as many 5+25MB data bundles, but now, i rather wait for access to a PC to use the net. But sadly, i guess the overcharge will remain in place.

It must have been a marketing exercise. @VD: Any news on what they found out?

I did some calculations and I found that for between 7MB and 32MB usage per month the best bundle is the 20MB for R28 one. Anything less than that and you may as well remain out of bundle.
