I tried to install idm and MS Anti-Spyware almost crapped in its pants. Can’t remember the details but there were some serious mal-ware (according to MSAS ratings) trying to install and attach itself to my Internet Explorer
I have installed several packages that does this (winget been one of them) and none of them had MSAS so up in arms. It even had a name for the mal-ware and said that it was dangerous. With the other packages MSAS just gave warnings.
On a side note: It's always possible that somebody got hold of the program and repackaged it before I downloaded it - didn't get it from the source.
I use Free Download Manager. I've used plenty of the free ones, and this seems to fit me best. It also integrates nicely with all the browsers, and FlashGot (my preferred choice).
hexium - it may actually be dangerous. Maybey you should just forget it. I use reget pro and have for years and have registered it. But - you should experiment and work out what works for you - there are thousands of these things. ALWAYS get from a reputable source.
