Hi guys,

I know you guys are already sick of answering similar questions, but I just need some info on buying the correct generator for my current needs.

My dad and I am looking in buying it together, so will need to cover both areas.

1x 32" LCD (AC100-240AC-50/60Hz 110w)
Dads got a oldish 54cm crt(dunno his power rating for the tv.)
PC with a generic PSU
Media player (2w)
Surround sound DVD player (175w)
Modem (12v 2 amps router)
Lights on both areas ( lights have been replaced by power saving ones)
Maybe fridges if necessary

What is a decent generator we can buy for these equipment. Decent, but not too cheap.

I am not sure if this has to be connected to the mains on each side and I a regulater needs to be installed on both ends not to damage the generator.

Would appreciate your guys input and how do you workout a total to see which one to buy.
Hopefully in the region of 5-8k perhaps.

Add up all the watts of all the appliances you want then gen to power and post it here.

And dont make then up, look!

5KVa silent diesel would probably give you the best bang for your buck. Make sure it has AVR (voltage regulated)
Doesn't have to be "silent" but these enclosed ones do make a lot less noise.
