become a big fan of Smartwatch tap to pay, but previously used tap to pay and insert to pay,
so convenient, and so simple, although the feeling of handing over cash is kind of lost on me.

but then when you realize, every Rand you have, is actually worthless and its just a fantasy and not backed by anything,
keep thinking if it was crypto im paying with every-time, the same way I use my smartwatch.

I just tap my smartwatch, and then take out my wallet and get my Woolies/Checkers loyalty card*, swipe it and go.

* No, I’m not installing stocard, screwing around on the app is more work than pulling a card out of the wallet.

Just add the loyalty cards to your wallet of choice Apple / Google Pay.

Not sure which service you use, i use samsung pay and have all the loyalty cards on the same app.

With checkers you still have to read the number out to them, Woolies and dischem, the card can be scanned from the phone.

This sounds like extra effort compared to just swiping the card.

Agree, if you have the card easier to swipe.

I dont carry a wallet any more - so the trade off for me is reading the number or having to carry the card with me. I read the number.

That’s the ideal, but right now i still have the card holder, mainly for the driving licence.

I never take my drivers license or ID to the shops. It just stays in my car.

My medical aid card is now digital and accepted everywhere, so for a long time i haven't needed any of the physical cards for shopping that i do.

I keep a physical medical aid card on me, just in case I’m unconscious, because I look like the kind of guy that you drop off at a public hospital, not private.
