On Telkom's website they have a chat option. Anyhow firstly I explained for a week now I have only 1 bar signal on the LTE router. and I am getting horrible speed I explained I have rebooted it. I explained I even took the router to a family member and it works fine there. Now I understand they have a script to follow and are supposed to ask certain questions.

My deduction is there is something wrong with the tower close to my house. I have an external Antenna. I disconnected the antenna still 1 bar signal (expected no bars). Took the router to family member and works fine there. Put their sim in my router works fine.

I am an IT Professional thus please don't BS me.

Firstly he asks if I rebooted which I already explained.
Then he says: "let me check coverage in your area"....ummm I have had LTE for 2.5 years already. Of course there is coverage

Then he asks me to reset the router wiping the config....ummm no. Works fine at different location thus nothing wrong with settings (already explained took the router to different location) and I am definitely not re-configuring DMZ etc on the router. Thus even if you have already explained they still ask the idiotic questions. Even if you have already provided your cell number they ask for it again....cant he read the chat history?

Finally logs a ticket with a technician after long conversation
I log onto My Telkom and the person logged it as Reset Password. Really!!!

Ok now my question who has the most Idiotic Call Centres and why?

FNB the other day to authorize a credit card: The voice prompt asks for some weird number. Eventually got to an operator and was told I had to enter the last 4 digits. Not a chance the voice prompt said anything like that.

Edit: I see this is in broadband section.
Ah well.

I should have probably put it under General. Thus FNB also valid. Some call centers also have these loooong automated sequences when you just want to talk to somebody. Press 1 for this then press 2 for this then pres 1 for that then eventually you get to option to talk to an operator then...the phone goes dead.
