I'm currently on Afrihost uncapped 2048 but the throttling is over the top.

My account is throttled to 50kb/s. But the reality is that the latency and performance is so terrible on the account now to the point that it is unusable. Most downloads timeout and many images don't even load.

I downloaded just over 200GB last month (as per SabNZBd).

They tell me because I download 200GB last month I'm going to be throttled until at least the 15th of this month.

So for my R300 a month there are plenty of options, there must be something else that is less draconian and more uncapped?

For other heavy downloaders, what do you use?

Keep in mind the following: I use my account almost solely for NZB downloads, SSL from an international server. So any ISPs that don't like SSL is out (MWeb don't like it apparently)

Yeah, Afrihost uses a 30 day rolling window on their packages.
For heavy downloading, OW Gold is the best :)

I downloaded 256GB on WebAfrica 2MB home uncapped last month, primarily using new servers (both international and local). I've never noticed being throttled.

I schedule SABnzbd to go at full speed from 00h00 - 06h00, and 60kB/s for the rest of the day. This gives me some leeway for general browsing.

The trend on MyBB seems to be to recommend Mweb.

I am using Axxess 2048 uncapped. I have noticed that my speed has been dropped down to 1.25Mbps which sucks as it's only 8 days into the month. When I query it with them, they say the account is running at full 2Mbps on their side. I have done several speed tests on speedtest.net and forwarded to them, but I doubt I will have any joy, I think it is time I move ALL my clients to OW,

I believe the Afrihost now owns Axxess, so performance of Axxess ADSL is a relection on Afrihost.

So my Afrihost is just going from bad to worse.

As per everyone's recommendation, I'm going for OpenWeb Gold Uncapped.

It's a R100 more but the difference that R100 buys you...

This 30 day rolling cap thing is retarded. I basically won't get full line speed for almost this entire month (based on last month). Useless product...
