Ok i want to use route sentry. I already have a Telkom level 2 account (meaning 2 gigs int and 20 gigs local). I want to make this my int on route sentry. I just need one more ISP that gives local cap *for gaming* open web seems like one but they have a lot of limitations. Can you even game with them:confused:? So please give me your input.

Btw it has to be cheap :D. I'm looking for about a 10 gig one. I already have a line and modem.

Ok for the local 10 gigs offered by OpenWeb i press order now. It gave me a whole list? Wth?!?!? It says one saying "10 gig -local only- (IS)" and it lists under it "10GB Local bandwidth through the Internet Solutions backbone." Now is this still an Openweb account or an IS? Does this limit me to IS only?

I was just thinking something now....

I have a Telkom 2Gb All Access account and a Nashua 1Gb contract including the 384k ADSL line rental. Now my usual set up is to use the Telkom account at the beginning of the month until the 2Gb (which is actually 3-something Gb) is used up. I then start up RouteSentry and use the Telkom for my local, the 20Gbs included, and the Nashua for my international. Any international shortfalls in the month are made up with Axxess prepaid which can last a year before it expires (yeah right! :))

Now this thread got me thinking and it may help the OP but I am wasting some local download time while using those original 2Gbs. So would it be possible to buy a second TelkomInternet AllAccess 1Gb account and then smoke that 1Gb straight away and then use that 10Gb free local on RouteSentry while switching to my 2Gb AllAccess for the international until that is used up and then switch to Nashua?

My logic for this is that 10Gb local from OpenWeb costs R69 but I can get that from Telkom with 1Gb international to play with for R79....

A bit complicated sounding but I am sure someone will follow! :) Basically it means no longer waiting to slowly use the 2Gb until i start smoking my downloads!

Related to this does the 1Gb allow you to go over like the 2Gb or does it cut you off at 1Gb?

i would suggest axxess local only prepaid @ R12 per gig. that which you don't use get rolled over at least nothing goes to waste and its SAix based not IS which is better anyways.

that means that the product is on IS's back bone not Saix's -it still an " openweb account "

But that is exactly what I am suggesting... if the 10Gb SAIX with Telkom is only going to cost you R10 more with the added bonus of 1Gb international why not use this for your local after using the 1Gb?

Yes, the OpenWeb is IS only.

All we/I need to know is if it is possible to have two accounts with Telkom and connect to both at the same time using RouteSentry.

So what your saying is that the 10 gigs openweb allocates is only for IS servers and not SAIX ones, even with route sentry?

Yip, OpenWeb resells IS local, whereas the Telkom local is SAIX. All RouteSentry does is separate your local and international traffic and splits between your two chosen ISPs

dude its on the IS's back bone you can access anything thats local even if its on saix's servers.
